Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give"...
Jesus said, "Freely ye have received, freely give." It has occurred to me that while the benefits I have received since I first became acquainted with Christian Science have been manifold, and almost too numerous to recount, my giving, in the way of testimony, as an expression of gratitude for these blessings, has been limited. I will, therefore, mention one experience with the thought that it may be of benefit or help to others.
Some time ago I awoke one morning feeling very uncomfortable, with high fever and much internal distress. I had experienced a similar attack several years previously, and so recognized these symptoms as what is called, under medical diagnosis, gastric fever. I found myself barely able to rise from the bed, and while I immediately commenced to declare the truth to the best of my understanding, as we are taught in Christian Science, and thus to help myself, the extreme weakness and various other symptoms did not seem to lessen. Late in the afternoon I asked for help from a Christian Science practitioner, and almost immediately began to experience relief. This continued throughout the night, so that on the following morning after eating my usual breakfast I was able to go downtown and attend to my business; and I was practically recovered by the early part of the afternoon. I am certain that had I been treated under ordinary material methods I would have spent many days under this bondage. I considered this quite a remarkable recovery, but it is only one of many physical healings that I have experienced — some practically instantaneous, some slower.
Christian Science has also been of great help to me in business, in overcoming a sense of fear and limitation by the realization that God is the source of our supply, and that as we learn to trust in Him and His guidance, and especially as we learn that the only true business is God's business, all things needful are supplied and the sense of fear is overcome and cast out.
