It is with a heart full of gratitude and with the conviction that this account will be helpful to others in despair that I bear testimony to the wonderful healing I owe to Christian Science.

Over two years ago a swelling appeared on my upper arm. I struggled against this condition, but I had only a slight understanding of this beautiful truth and as time passed the swelling increased daily. At last I decided to go to a doctor. Upon seeing it, he asked me why I had waited so long. "Your condition is cancerous," he declared, "and an immediate operation is necessary." The next day I was to go to the hospital, and this caused me a great deal of fear. On returning home I related my experience and strongly opposed an operation, believing I should not recover — that I was too old. Then my daughter encouraged me to ask for help in Christian Science, and we did. It was kindly given, and we clung steadfastly to Truth. On several occasions error seemed very real, but with the help of a devoted practitioner it was overcome. One day, as I was no longer able to endure the bandage, we removed it. At that time the swelling was large, but the next day it had completely disappeared.

We cannot express the joy we felt in realizing that God had answered our prayers. No words can express our gratitude to God, who is an ever present help; to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower; to Mrs. Eddy; to the kind and consecrated practitioner; and to Scientist friends who have brought us from the wilderness to lead us to the understanding of divine Love.
