The object of religion is to make known the truth about...
Evening News
The object of religion is to make known the truth about God; and real Science is consistent with that knowledge. Christian Science is based on the revealed truth of the Bible, which declares that God is Spirit; that He created all; that He finished His work, and that all was good; that He made man in His own image and likeness, that is, spiritual. Christian Science maintains that true Science confirms this spiritual record of creation, including man; and, therefore, as it is impossible for two contradictions to be both right, the opposite material concept of the universe, including man, with its consequent erroneous theories, is not true; and the belief in its reality will be dissolved from human thought in proportion as the Scriptural truth is understood and demonstrated.
The mission of Christian Science is to make known the divine fact of the spirituality of the universe, including man; which is certainly not false teaching, for it upholds pure Christianity, which is divine Science. This spiritually scientific view of the present and eternal unfolding of good, through Christian Science, has redeemed thousands throughout the world from sin, suffering, and despair, thus bearing splendid testimony and practical proof of its teachings. The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, says on page 546: "Christian Science is dawning upon a material age. The great spiritual facts of being, like rays of light, shine in the darkness, though the darkness, comprehending them not, may deny their reality. The proof that the system stated in this book is Christianly scientific resides in the good this system accomplishes, for it cures on a divine demonstrable Principle which all may understand."
