I became interested in Christian Science in July, 1922
I became interested in Christian Science in July, 1922. Immediately thereafter I gave up all material remedies and asked help from a practitioner. For ten years I had been in bondage to a strict diet, being apparently unable to digest the lightest meal. About the tenth of August of the same year I sat down at the table saying, "Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink." From that moment I stopped dieting and ate anything that was set before me, without any ill effects. Insomnia, from which I had suffered, has almost entirely disappeared, and I have been freed from frequent and painful headaches.
At the beginning of 1924, I had an attack of rheumatism and during several months did not put my right foot to the ground. I again resorted to all sorts of material remedies that were suggested to me, but without obtaining any relief. Then I decided to ask help from a Christian Science practitioner; and after several treatments the pain disappeared—never to reappear. I am very happy to have overcome the smoking habit, and immeasurably grateful to have learned through Christian Science never to allow myself to be discouraged, knowing as I do that God is an ever present help.
I desire to express my deep gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, to whom we owe this wonderful teaching, and to the practitioners who have so lovingly helped me.
