One morning I awoke with pain in the back and legs

One morning I awoke with pain in the back and legs. At this time I was a clerk in a store, so I went to work, continuing all day. The next morning I again went to work, but was obliged to go home after an hour or so. We were boarding at a hotel when this disease was at its height. The pain became so intense that a practitioner was called. Those around me wondered why my husband did not call a doctor. At this time a home was offered me with Christian Scientists. These people lived in an apartment, and I had to be carried up the stairs. Right here I want to say that words cannot express the relief I experienced through the love that was given me. One time, while I was endeavoring to walk and felt my strength failing, some one sang Mrs. Eddy's hymn, on page 240 of the Christian Science Hymnal, which begins, "O gentle presence," and strength returned. In five weeks I ceased having help from a practitioner, and am now able to walk miles.

For this healing, and for all the loving help that I have ever received, I am very grateful.
