From a little child I had suffered from liver and bladder...
From a little child I had suffered from liver and bladder troubles, never being free from them. Biliousness would manifest itself at any time without warning. The attacks were many times so severe that it would be necessary to have a physician come and administer an opiate to relieve the pain. I was seldom free from pain. I went to see many specialists. Two of them said I had cancer of the bladder, and one said there was a stone in the bladder. All declared I should have an operation, for I could not live under such conditions; however, I would never consent to an operation.
I then went to see a Christian Science practitioner. She told me there was nothing impossible with God and that I could be healed. I visited her nearly every day for two months. At that time I was staying with my sister. After returning to my own home I wrote to a friend, asking her to recommend a practitioner. She told me of one who was helping her. I wrote to him, explained my case as best I could, and asked if he would treat me; for I knew my friend had received great help. He said he would if I would come to see him as often as he thought best. I did so, and was helped in many ways. Just a short time before I began having treatment in Christian Science a friend gave me the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and asked me to read and study it thoroughly, saying it would heal me. I was faithful to the study of it, and have been healed.
In 1911 I took class instruction, and am most grateful for that privilege. It is a great pleasure to attend the Association meeting every year. I have held steadfastly to the truth, knowing the omnipotence of God and the nothingness of matter. I have felt for a long time that I should send my testimony to the Christian Science periodicals in gratitude for my wonderful healing.
