Extracts from Reports of Christian Science Committees on Publication for the Year Ended September 30, 1924
For the State of Iowa.
The secular press continues in general to be fair and friendly to Christian Science and to Christian Scientists. Ignorance rather than malice has furnished the motive for such erroneous statements in the secular press as have appeared. Corrections have been accepted accordingly. There have been, however, more than the usual number of direct and malicious attacks on our dear Leader. Every one of these has been corrected promptly, and every correction has been printed. The newspapers also have printed a few assaults from pro-medical sources upon the rights of Christian Scientists to depend on the practice of our religion; but these attacks have been firmly corrected, and the publication of these corrections has had a salutary effect in the communities where they have appeared. Respect for Christian Science increases, and it will go on increasing as we practice our religion and insist upon our rights.
