Mortals indulge in many fears; and one of the greatest is that of growing old. Mankind believes that it must become old and unlovely, and tries with all its might to put off the evil day by means of dieting, exercise, or rest, in whatever direction inclination may point, only to find in the end that nothing has been gained or accomplished by these efforts but added fear of the loss of that which it is striving so ineffectually to retain. A generally accepted material belief is that the body is completely renewed every seven years. If the body is thus rejuvenated, what causes the weight of age? What but an erroneous thought, the false belief that existence is divided into periods of time, which, added up, make years, a certain number of which determine life and bring age. John clearly saw, in his revelation on the island of Patmos, the nothingness of this time restriction of man's true birthright, when he realized that in the holy city (the heavenly Jerusalem) "there shall be no night."
