I wish to add my testimony of gratitude for the many blessings that I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. From childhood I was subject to nervousness and in bondage to the severest form of fear, which manifested itself in different phases. There was a medical law which gave both my relatives and me great concern. Always having a great desire for prayer, I learned through Christian Science what true prayer meant, and received my answer.

In the year 1918 a child was born to us, and at that time the physician stated that my wife would not be able to attend to her household duties unless an operation was performed. We were living in an apartment at that time and did not know anything about Christian Science; but there was a dear friend, a Christian Scientist, who ministered to the needs of my wife, spiritually and materially, thereby planting the seed of Truth through her reflection of Love. The child grew and attracted much attention because of his physical strength, activity, and intelligence. When nearing the age of one year, while away from home, he had a fall which resulted in a few scratches about the face and a bruised nose. To quiet the fear of those who witnessed the fall, a physician was called to see if the nose had been broken, but it was pronounced only bruised. After returning to our home we noticed that the child had great difficulty in breathing freely. I was not then interested in Christian Science; and feeling that the child should have some attention, I had him examined by my family physician, who stated that a bone had been broken and had not set, leaving one nostril free and the other closed. He also stated that nothing could be done until the child was about twelve years of age, when the nose would have to be rebroken and set. This being the only relief the medical profession could offer, I called a Christian Science practitioner by telephone and stated the case as pronounced by the doctor. One absent treatment was given. A few days later it was noticed that the child's breathing was normal; and no signs of this condition have been noticed since.

About six months later, the child had a fever which seemed to grow worse. My wife, who was deeply interested in Christian Science, asked me to decide as to which treatment should be applied, medical or Christian Science. Remembering the beautiful healing of the broken nose, I called a practitioner; and on my return home in the evening, expecting the child to be a little improved, I found him entirely well. This was another proof of the healing power of Truth as taught by Christian Science.
