For many and continual blessings received through...

For many and continual blessings received through Christian Science I am indeed grateful; and I consider the expression of such gratitude a privilege as well as a duty. I have been greatly encouraged and strengthened by reading the testimonies of those treading the pathway from sense to Soul, and wish to add my own with the hope that it may be helpful.

Before I took up the study of Christian Science, life seemed indeed dreary and hopeless. Fear, resentment, and self-depreciation seemed to be my greatest foes; but I am glad to be able to state that these false mental traits have been to a large extent overcome, and are gradually disappearing from consciousness. I did not take up the study of Christian Science primarily for the healing of physical ailments, although I have been healed of chronic stomach trouble and fever. My desire was to know the "why" of life, and to understand God. Christian Science has answered satisfactorily this desire; and, best of all, it has explained how to make the truth available every moment. The reasonableness and self-evident propositions of Christian Science, when studied earnestly and with unbiased thought, should convince any one of their truth, as well as awaken the desire to, in some measure, put them into practice. Truly if we, through Christian Science, seek God earnestly and honestly, He may be found to be "a very present help in trouble," always available anywhere and at any time, and in every conceivable circumstance and condition. Christian Science has helped me in business,—in fact in every way; and I have found it to be a practical and demonstrable religion, the very same that Jesus taught in all its completeness. In so far as put into practice, it has been proved to me.

I wish to express my thankfulness to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, for "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures;" to the faithful and loving practitioners for their help; and to many Christian Science friends, who have persistently encouraged and helped me thus far along the way.
