This testimony is in grateful acknowledgment of all that Christian Science has done for me. For the past fifteen years it has been my unfailing guide and help, and has brought me more peace and joy than my life had ever known before.
My first healing enabled me to lay aside glasses, worn constantly for five years, and pronounced indispensable for the remainder of my life by two eminent specialists, because of a serious eyestrain. Inflammatory rheumatism yielded less readily; but I was not discouraged, remembering that, previously, almost every material remedy and treatment had been tried and found wanting. Later, I learned to be glad that this healing came slowly, as it caused me to study Christian Science more faithfully than might otherwise have been the case. These first healings were succeeded by numerous others.
While deeply thankful for all physical benefits received, I am even more grateful for the spiritualization of thought that attends this study; for a clearer understanding of God and spiritual man and of the impersonal nature of both good and evil. I rejoice that it is becoming easier to see the spiritual reality in place of the material seeming,—the spiritual fact instead of the material belief,—and that when trials come, instead of lamenting, I can see in them added opportunities to prove the allness of God and the nothingness of error, because through Christian Science sufficient understanding is given to enable us to master whatever phase of error may present itself to be destroyed.
