Christian Science was first brought to my notice through the healing of my husband's mother. She had been an invalid for some thirty years, and had undergone two very serious operations. She was in a very weakened state when I first knew her, and could eat only certain foods. I saw her restored to perfect health through Christian Science treatment.

My husband and I were deeply interested, and soon found that Christian Science was indeed the truth about God and man. We have used this healing method now for about nine years, and in that time have had full proof of its regenerating power for both mind and body. I was healed through Christian Science of nervousness and sleeplessness; and a very trying eye condition has been so much improved that I hardly ever need glasses, even for close work. I am most grateful for these healings. The doctor had told me that he could do nothing for the nervousness, that I must try to help myself; but I did not know how until the blessed truth of Christian Science came to me. The explanation of God as Love, and the many beautiful promises of God's protection and care for us, helped me in a great measure to overcome fear.

Our two children, aged seven and five, have never had any but Christian Science treatment. I am grateful for the little understanding I have of this great truth, which enables me to work out the problems of daily life; and I am most grateful for the loving help I have received from practitioners when I have needed it. This help was indeed a great blessing to me when our little son was stricken with a seemingly very serious illness about two years ago. It was deemed wise in this case to call in a physician for a diagnosis, and I found out afterwards that the doctor had held out little hope for the child's recovery. It was a long, hard fight; but though the child ate nothing for two weeks, when first he asked for food it was a meat sandwich that he wanted and enjoyed. That was the beginning of a quick recovery. I am most grateful for the whole experience, and for the unselfish and loving labor of the faithful practitioner who helped us. I know that through this great trial the infallibility of Christian Science when honestly applied was powerfully shown to me, and that my faith and understanding were strengthened by it.
