Several years ago, while suffering from nervous prostration...
Several years ago, while suffering from nervous prostration and several other ailments, and having lost faith in God and man, I was led to try Christian Science, through the healing of a brother-in-law. I was almost instantaneously healed through the loving help of a practitioner and the hearty cooperation of my wife, who also began the study of Christian Science at that time.
Since then I have had several wonderful healings, and should like to mention one in particular which occurred about eighteen months ago, when I was accidentally knocked from a ladder and had my collar bone broken. A practitioner was immediately called, and through her loving help and understanding of the truth, I was enabled to use my arm in four days. On the seventh day, to comply with the State Compensation Law, I visited a doctor, driving my car two miles to town. I had not allowed the clothing to be removed from my shoulder until the doctor examined it. He found the collar-bone had been broken; but, to his surprise, it was properly set and healed. He advised me not to use my arm for at least three weeks; but six days later I was at work again, and have experienced no trouble since then with either my arm or my shoulder.
I am very grateful for these healings and many others, both physical and moral, which I have received through the reading and study of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I am also very grateful to the practitioners and all others who have lovingly helped me on my way from sense to Soul; but words cannot express my gratitude for the understanding I have gained of God, as ever present, infinite good, and for the knowledge that man, in His image and likeness, is spiritual, not material, and is endowed with power over all evil.
