It is wrong to regard the healings effected by Christian Science as "psychotherapy cures." Psychotherapy is, in simple English and speaking generally, healing by the human mind through mental suggestion. In Christian Science, healing is wrought by the divine Mind, God, through the prayer of spiritual understanding. Psychotherapeutic methods may assume various forms, but none of these methods bear the slightest relation to Christian Science. All of them are, indeed, polar opposites of Christian Science. It is important that this difference should be clearly understood, in order that Christian Science may be seen and considered as it is. The requirements for Christian Science healing are clearly and simply set forth in Jesus' Sermon on the Mount; and this great sermon is the essence of Christian Science.
