Having received so many benefits through Christian Science,...

Having received so many benefits through Christian Science, it is with a heart full of gratitude that I give this testimony. My mother was healed of lung trouble about fourteen years ago, after materia medica had done all that it could for her. Since that time, Christian Science has been my only help in every way.

In March, 1919, I was attacked with influenza. I was unconscious at first; and as I could not ask for help myself, my sister, who is a Christian Scientist, telephoned to a practitioner for treatment, which was lovingly given. My husband, who was not a Scientist, called in two doctors, neither of whom thought he could help me any, but left some medicine. Although I knew of nothing that was taking place, I refused to take the medicine. It was reported that I was dying. My mother and two sisters, and also the practitioner, held close to the truth and refused to consent to the belief that I must die. I was unconscious for several days. When I came to myself, I was so weak that I could not raise myself up from my pillow; but I rapidly regained strength, and was able to be up in three weeks' time. This experience certainly proved to me that material laws are powerless, when we refuse to give them power and, instead, cling fast to God and His law.

In the latter part of the following April, summer complaint was overcome for my three-months-old baby. I asked for help from the practitioner, but for two weeks the baby seemed to get no better. He seemed to be just dwindling away; but this error, too, though stubborn, had to give way to the truth. To-day he is a fine, healthy boy. Friends often remark about his health, and wonder how he escapes the diseases so prevalent among children.
