I first heard of Christian Science when the new edifice of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, was dedicated in Boston. I attended one of the services and it impressed me as being harmonious. I had never been interested in religion and never wanted to read the Bible. Several months later

I went to a Wednesday evening testimony meeting. Many told about this wonderful book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, which I learned could be borrowed, read, or purchased at the Christian Science reading rooms. I immediately procured the book after the service and commenced reading. I was willing to give it a fair trial, and within two weeks was healed of intense suffering, both mental and physical. I had been taking several kinds of medicine, but these were disposed of at once, and there has not been any desire for them since. Headaches of long standing, neuralgia, sleeplessness, throat trouble, and bowel disorder were healed; also catarrh, dizzy spells, and nervous prostration. I had been in a hospital for four months for nervous trouble, but under Christian Science treatment it entirely disappeared and has never returned. Words cannot express my gratitude for the spiritual understanding of God, gained from studying the Lesson-Sermons. I have overcome a sense of anger, sensitiveness, sorrow, and a tendency to take offense readily I am a healthy, active woman, now able to work for a living. I hope this may help some seeker for the truth.
