Words cannot tell all the blessings that have come to me since I commenced the study of Christian Science. In our family of five our healings have been almost constant, there was so much to be healed both physically and mentally. The Bible when read (which was seldom) seemed so confusing that I could not understand it, much less put any of it into practice. But now it is my daily guide and I want to give Mrs. Eddy all the credit, for I have learned to read the Bible understandingly through the study of her book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," for which I owe her endless gratitude.

A great revelation came to me when my daughter was healed of what would be called blood poisoning. For about a week her hand continued to swell in spite of all the truth she mentally declared. She was going to school every day, and when her hand and arm up to the elbow were about twice their normal size, people commenced to suggest that if she did not go to a doctor to have it lanced she would lose her arm and maybe her life. Until those suggestions were made she had had no pain or discomfort except that the arm was so heavy she had to carry it in a sling. As those suggestions were repeated a number of times, fear started to creep into her thought and the arm began to pain her. She than telephoned to a practitioner and asked for help. The practitioner lovingly told her to keep in mind what Mrs. Eddy says on page 463 of Science and Health, "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." After that she was free from pain again, and after four treatments, when her hand looked worse than at any other time, she declared she was healed and asked the practitioner to discontinue treatments.

In a week's time her hand was normal, with the exception of the skin peeling off. At no time was there any discharge. That "truth removes properly whatever is offensive" was proved to be a true statement. During all this time she never missed a day of school or a night's sleep.
