One Wednesday evening I attended a Christian Science...
One Wednesday evening I attended a Christian Science service with a neighbor for the first time and was completely healed of a painful bunion on my foot, which had bothered me for years. I did not even know then that there was a textbook. I have felt that healing power since when attending the church services. Later my glasses were broken in an almost mysterious way and I was forced into the truth by my own decision that I would spend the amount of the cost of a new lens on Christian Science treatment. That was over four years ago. The visual defects have all disappeared and another difficulty with my eyes has been partly overcome. A baby girl was born under Christian Science treatment, with very little discomfort, and such an uplifted feeling was experienced all through the time previous to the birth. After her birth I began to do mental work for myself, and many problems have been met. Three times my little daughter has gone through different forms of contagious disease; treatment was asked for, and she was kept from other children until the disease was overcome, but her actions were not different then from any other time and she enjoys perfect health. I have been amazed at the readiness with which she declares, "God is Love; He takes care of me," when she is bumped or scratched even slightly, as she is only a little past two years.
I know I have much for which to thank God unceasingly, and am protected so many times from different phases of error that I feel I cannot comprehend the extent of this protection. Christian Science has been received into my mother's home and also the home of my husband's brother and that of my sister, proving to me Mrs. Eddy's words, "In the scientific relation of God to man, we find that whatever blesses one blesses all, as Jesus showed with the loaves and the fishes,—Spirit, not matter, being the source of supply."
