About three years ago I took up the study of Christian Science after many years of suffering. I had been under the care of the best physicians and had had a severe operation with the hope of regaining my health, but it seemed as if conditions became worse. The operation left me in a nervous state, and other complications set in—stomach, bowel, kidney, and bladder trouble; but the worst pain was due to adhesions, which the doctor said resulted from the operation. I became so nervous that I could not sleep unless under the influence of an opiate. Electrical treatments were than resorted to, but to no avail.
One day a friend stopped to see me and asked me if I would try Christian Science. After trying many physicians and surgeons I turned to God, for man's extremity is indeed God's opportunity. Needless to say, I was healed, and words cannot express my gratitude to God for this healing, and to our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for revealing this truth to us. We have had many healings in our family since, such as headaches, sore throat, fractured rib, and bruises from a fall, which were healed in a short time. For all this I am so thankful and hope this testimony will help some poor sufferer in his search for Truth.
