For several years I was a sufferer from insomnia and all...
For several years I was a sufferer from insomnia and all sorts of nervous troubles. Of the different doctors whom I consulted during my illness, some treated me for heart disease which, they said, would develop until I would become completely paralyzed; others treated me for a nervous trouble so pronounced that it seemed impossible that I would ever be healed of it; still another treated me for the blood, which he said was too thick, and also for the heart, which was extremely weak. I was hardly allowed to move, could not bend, nor talk while walking, and could not eat after six o'clock in the evening. I was very much cast down and my fear was very great.
It was at this critical period of my life that I heard of Christian Science, and to me it was truly a revelation. After the first Wednesday evening meeting which I attended I felt that here was the way to deliverance, and after I returned home I put aside all the material remedies which I had thought were absolutely necessary to relieve the attacks of heart trouble. Then I called on a practitioner and my condition repidly improved. After two months' treatment I was a new woman, transformed spiritually, morally, and physically, and had again taken up my work with courage, and had lost my fear of moving and of fatigue. But to me the mental healing is still more precious than the physical one.
It is therefore with deep gratitude to God, our Father, for all the blessings that I have received, that I give this testimony. Through Mrs. Eddy's writings I have been able to understand how to serve God in spirit and in truth. I am also grateful to the practitioner who has helped me to a better understanding of our Master's teachings and how to put them into practice, also grateful to all those who have encouraged me with their good thoughts. My healing has been permanent and I am studying Christian Science with joy and eagerness.
