When I think of all the blessings which have come to us during the past five years as the result of Christian Science, I realize that only a life consecrated to Truth will ever pay the debt of gratitude I owe to God and to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

Our twin sons were eight years old when Christian Science found me. Neither of them had ever been well and I was a semi-invalid, never free from pain. Nervous dyspepsia, abscess, partial paralysis of the bowels, neuralgia, and sciatic rheumatism were named in the diagnosis of my case by the doctors. I could eat nothing without suffering terribly and was very weak. Finally one of our boys was taken with St. Vitus's dance, and all seemed very dark indeed. Then one day Love sent me a dear friend who brought the wonderful message that it was possible through Christian Science for all of us to be well and happy. I had tried so many doctors and osteopathic and Turkish massage treatments and had taken so many medicines, only to grow worse instead of better, that I had almost lost hope of ever being well again. This truth cure, however, appealed to me greatly and I thought if it could possibly make our boys well and strong, there might be hopes for me. I was so careful to plan just how the healing should be accomplished, not having learned to say, "Thy will be done."

I secured a copy of Science and Health, and how I did live in that book! It was a revelation to me, that for which I had always been looking and had never found. The days came and went but nothing seemed of much importance outside of this beautiful truth about real life. Before I had finished reading the book, I was eating anything I wanted to eat, without any discomfort whatever. I kept on reading and in two months discarded all medicine. Then the bowel trouble yielded, and from that time Christian Science has been our only healer. I had worn glasses three years for eyestrain but have not worn them for four years now, the sight is perfect and I can read for hours without any bad effect. The neuralgia and rheumatism have also been overcome to a great extent. Tired, aching feet with two very painful corns were healed through the understanding I had gained.
