The reading of testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals has always been very helpful to me, therefore I would like to add my demonstration, hoping that it may be of some benefit to those seeking deliverance. Although I had known of Christian Science for about twenty years, I did not take it up until about ten years ago. Since then I have been healed of extreme nervousness, backache, fever, and other minor ailments. In August, 1916, the test came for me to take a stand when I was stricken with blood poisoning. I tried to work for myself during the day and all that night but seemingly could not overcome the pain. The following morning I thought it wise to call for help, and as we have no practitioner in our little town I telephoned to a friend in a neighboring town, and was relieved of the pain. A few days later a different phase of poison presented itself. I again telephoned the practitioner, who gave me immediate treatment; but the sense of pain was so intense that I could not get any rest all night, and next morning when I tried to arise I fainted; my whole body was affected. That afternoon I telephoned for the practitioner to come and stay with me as I felt I needed present help. She came and stayed with me all night and part of the next day, and I am very grateful that through her loving help and patience I was enabled to stand firm under an apparently stubborn test. Before she left I was able to sit up a little while, and I knew my demonstration was made even though it was several weeks before the false evidence entirely disappeared. I am very grateful to the practitioner who so faithfully worked for me, also to Mrs. Eddy who so patiently taught the way in Christian Science, that we might accept the Christ-teachings and be free.—(Mrs.) Emmy Grube, New Braunfels, Texas.
