I have received so much benefit from the testimonies in...
I have received so much benefit from the testimonies in the Sentinel and the Journal that I feel it is now time that I helped others by telling a few of the blessings that I have received. I did not come into Christian Science for physical healing, but because I was in an extremely depressed and unhappy condition, having passed through the great sorrow of losing my mother. I had heard about Christian Science a year or two previously, but after reading a very little from one or two pamphlets I regret to say I thoughtlessly put them aside and thought no more about it. However, at the time previously mentioned, I thought about it again and decided to investigate it further. I therefore began the study of Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy and I can truthfully say that my life has been quite changed from that time.
Whereas I used to be of an extremely worrying and nervous disposition, I now feel quite free of fear, worry, or nervousness. These last four years of war would, to human sense, have been a great occasion for worry, anxiety, and depression, but both my husband and myself have been marvelously protected. My husband, through the aid of Christian Science, has quite recovered from a sharp attack of trench fever. He was also marvelously protected at the front during several strenuous months of trench warfare. I myself have been cured of many minor ailments, such as troublesome colds which in the old days used to last for many weeks at a time. When the error now crops up it is invariably overcome in a short time. I was also very quickly cured of a poisoned toe a year or two ago, for which I am very grateful. My greatest gratitude is, however, for the spiritual uplift and the new understanding of God which comes to us through the study of this new-old religion.
