With love I write my testimony for the Sentinel, to the glory of God who with loving care has guided me to eternal life.
In 1912 I became sick very suddenly, and all the action of the body seemed to stop. At that time I had no understanding of Christian Science, but was just beginning to be interested in it. The morning I became so ill, I seemed to be passing on, but got over the attack and told my sister I was sure that God had not sent anything like that to me, but had helped me to overcome it. In a short time after, another attack came, harder than the first. A practitioner was sent for and I experienced great help, although these attacks recurred for some time. I am surely a living witness that death was overcome with the understanding of Life as God. Although there were many battles to be fought before complete victory was won on the side of God, good, the attacks yielded to the power of Truth until they ceased to have dominion over me. I feel that I can never be thankful enough to the practitioner who so faithfully and patiently worked for me, also to my friends that stood by me in the hour of need.
Christian Science has surely proved to be a blessing and help at all times, both for me and my family, for it is always available in our daily living and can be applied to all our needs, through the understanding of God gained from reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, together with the Bible, and also other Christian Science literature. Many problems have been worked out through entire reliance on God as the only power and presence. Blood poisoning, high fever, colds, pain, Spanish influenza have yielded to the power of Truth. Christian Science was also a great help for our cattle while we had a farm. Surely it is true, if Christian Science is good for one thing, it is good for everything. This has been proved to me, and I am thankful to God for all the good He has bestowed on them that trust Him; also to each active Scientist who is helping to bring health and harmony to a needy world. Mrs. J. P. Swanson, Ryssby, Sweden.
