Owing to the many blessings which have come to me...
Owing to the many blessings which have come to me since becoming a student of Christian Science, I wish to express my gratitude that others may gain the help and peace of this beautiful truth which Jesus taught and demonstrated, which our dear Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, rediscovered a half century ago, and by which so many have been brought out of the wilderness of mortal laws and illusions into the land of happiness and peace.
I am so grateful for the knowledge that I have of our Father-Mother God who is ever present, as infinite Life, Truth, and Love. It makes no difference how long we have looked to other gods for peace and happiness, when we at last turn to Him in the right way for comfort, He shows unlimited mercy and goodness to all His children.
From childhood I suffered from acute indigestion, chronic bowel difficulty, and many disorders. As I grew older the doctors said I must be operated on for appendicitis, but I did not consent to an operation. About two years before being led to Christian Science I had a very bad fall, injuring my spine, but refused to consult a doctor concerning this. I went on in this manner until life was becoming a burden. My right limb began troubling me a great deal, so I consented to see a doctor and was told that the end of the vertebral column was broken and turned to the right, causing my right limb to become partly paralyzed. The doctor advised me to have local treatments and if I did not get better to have an operation. I accepted her verdict but continued to suffer and grow worse, both physically and mentally, until I finally decided to seek help in Christian Science.
