It is with deep gratitude for Christian Science that I am prompted to give a testimony of a permanent healing I received about nine years ago; it is a happy change from eighteen years of weak, sinking spells, nervous headache, and quinsy every winter. I also had had inflammatory rheumatism twice, being confined to my bed for nine weeks the last time. When I began to recover I had found myself in a constant state of fear of a return of the pain, this fear culminated in nervous prostration, which left me a complete mental and physical wreck. At this point my husband took me to several sanatoriums. After being in the last one for a very short time I was taken seriously ill. I was in an unconscious state for five days. My case was pronounced absolutely hopeless by the doctors.

My husband was sent for and at his arrival decided to try Christian Science, so he called in a practitioner and brought her to see me. The doctor was not giving me any medicine. He said that there was nothing they could give me as the case was hopeless. After five days, I regained consciousness and started to get better. Then dropsy appeared but even this added condition did not keep me down very long. I grew steadily better and in a very short time my husband was able to remove me to the practitioner's home, where I remained for about three weeks. It was while there that I learned to know the truth about God and man. My healing was so complete, thorough, and permanent, that I have never had the slightest temptation to use material remedies of any kind since that time. Whenever little ailments arise, we apply our own knowledge of Christian Science and we have always received the help needed with the exception of a few times when we have had to ask for help from practitioners. Their work has helped us to see more and more that there is no light so great as the light of Christian Science if we will but use it.

Among the demonstrations we have had in our home, I wish to mention one of the healing of my son. Coming home from college he went to work in the harvest field, and not being accustomed to hard work, and the weather being very hot, he was overcome with the heat, and became paralyzed in his lower limbs. Christian Science help was immediately obtained and in two weeks he could walk almost as normally as before.
