With the deepest love and gratitude to God I give this...
With the deepest love and gratitude to God I give this testimony. After having treatment from several doctors, among them some specialists, the verdict was given that I had from twenty-four hours to possibly one or two years to live; in fact, some of them stated that one could never tell what the next minute would bring forth for anyone with organic heart trouble and other complications such as I had.
Then Christian Science was brought to my notice and Science and Health was given me to read. I read faithfully and had treatments for about three months and was healed. I began to do my housework and had several piano pupils. For nearly three years I walked from one to three miles one day of each week giving five lessons, and also gave other lessons at home. Then I went South to a place where there was no one in Science. Gradually I left off studying the Lesson-Sermon and finally allowed mortal mind to creep in and dictate. Neighbors and relatives urged me to have a doctor. I took four small bottles of medicine and then began to see that I had left the best friend I ever had for material remedies and was losing ground all the time. With my eight-year-old boy I returned to Denver and again turned to Christian Science for help. A practitioner treated me all winter and spring, and I am glad to say I have put my trust entirely in God since then. Four years ago I laid my glasses off after wearing them steadily for seventeen years and have never had any need of them since.
I am so grateful for all our Christian Science literature and that my boy is a member of the Sunday school. Words are inadequate to express my thankfulness to God for the many blessings we have received and for Mrs. Eddy, who was good enough to make known to us again the Christ, Truth, the bread which "cometh down from heaven."
