Christian Science has healed me of false appetites, an impatient and irritable disposition, and many other tendencies characteristic of mortal mind. It has given me comfort, endurance, satisfaction, and assurance, as well as peace and harmony, which I never before enjoyed. I have been healed of a severe case of Bright's disease, considered hereditary. Stomach trouble, hemorrhoids, rheumatism, chronic pain in the back, and many other inharmonious physical conditions have also yielded to the power of Truth. I had tried physicians of different schools and all kinds of medicine without any permanent healing.

Christian Science is indeed the most wonderful inspiration that has ever come into my life. It was in February, 1906, when I first turned to it. Our youngest daughter, then eight years old, was lying at the point of death from a severe attack of typhoid pneumonia, and our family physician held out no hope for her. Our next door neighbor asked us to try Christian Science, and we did so. The ailment was overcome in three days by simply reading the Bible and Science and Health, and the child lost only a week of school. This was the first time I had studied Science and Health, and all sense of fear left me after reading the book for half an hour.

After this wonderful healing, whenever inharmonious conditions of any kind manifested themselves they were overcome through the application of the truth as taught in Science and Health. I was healed of the liquor habit, and also the smoking habit, after having been an inveterate smoker for over forty years. All these healings were accomplished through the study of the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy.
