I consider it a great privilege to testify to the working of truth in my consciousness. My first reading of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, was on the evening before our little boy, now six years old, was born. I read far into the night and awoke in the morning with a wonderful sense of peace. At seven o'clock the child was born and so-called physical laws were to a great extent set aside. Two years later when another child was born the freedom from material laws was yet more remarkable.
About five years ago our small daughter was healed, through the work of a Christian Science practitioner, of a skin disease, believed to be inherited. Many material remedies had been applied and an operation performed removing the skin of the lower part of the face. As relatives bore scars from this same disease, great fear was held over the child, but thanks to Christian Science the healing was perfect and no traces of the trouble remain. Through the help I received during this healing, a great burden of anxiety over the children was removed, and I long to have all mothers know pf this loving Comforter which says "Fear not" to every anxious thought.
For over a year we have lived many miles from a Christian Science organization, and I deeply appreciate the Lesson-Sermons so lovingly prepared. By conducting Sunday school services in the home, the children are learning to overcome error with Truth, and are thus being fortified with the law of Love to meet the experiences of life. I wish to express my gratitude for the Sentinel, which seems to meet my need each week; as I read the testimonies and various articles I feel a sense of comradeship with those who are working their way "from a material sense of existence to the spiritual, up to the glory prepared for them who love God" (Science and Health, p. 566). I thank our Leader for the gift of the daily prayer (see Manual, Art. VIII, Sect. 4), which blesses all mankind, and my greatest desire is so to conduct my life that this prayer may be fulfilled.
