Over six years ago I took up the study of Christian Science, and it has never failed me since. I had been in bed for six months after an operation and had been told by the most prominent physicians in this country that nothing more could be done for me. For five years I had been ill and my stomach had been pumped daily for a year.

A friend who had been healed through Christian Science brought it to my attention, and I was convinced that it was the truth. After she left and I had decided to try Christian Science my first temptation came. My medicine bottles had been refilled and some medicine was brought to me to take. Then the thought came that if I were obedient to the little I knew of Christian Science, I would thereby be knowing the truth that makes men free. The story of the blind man also came to me. He did not ask why he should go and wash in the pool; he was obedient and was healed. So I took my stand. I threw out my medicine in spite of the advice from members of my family that I had better save it for I might need it. I found myself healed and ordered a good supper.

I was also said to have a tubercular hip. The fear of this trouble was so great that I never told anyone but hid my hip-corset under the mattress. No one knew about it except the girl who helped to dress me. It was many weeks after Christian Science treatments were given me that the light came which brought the healing of this diseased condition. I was going upstairs depending on the banister for support, when the voice of Truth woke me up. I got a glimpse of the fact that man's real strength is in Mind. All fear left me and I walked perfectly free. Within a week or two the sore on the hip was healed.
