I had always been in good health until about eight years ago, when I broke down with what was called neurasthenia. For nearly three years I was under the doctors' care, being treated by skilled physicians. All were very kind to me, and I greatly appreciate what they did, but nothing gave me even relief. Then I was taken to California in the hope that the climate might prove beneficial, but I grew worse. Finally one day a stranger told my husband about Christian Science and what it had done for others. I was taken to see a practitioner, and after the first treatment was able to read a little in Science and Health. Previously I could not read even a few words at a time. I kept on taking treatments and was soon able to go back to Kansas, where my husband had left a good business. My complete healing was slow, but one day after studying the Bible and Science and Health, these words came to me as plainly as though they were spoken: "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord," and I was healed. Since then Christian Science has supplied our every need. Our three daughters enjoy the best of health. If any discord presents itself it is promptly overcome, mostly through my own understanding of Principle. A severe case of appendicitis was healed in four hours by the help of a practitioner.

My thankfulness goes out to God and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, who was spiritual enough to give this truth to the world in her book "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Our literature is a source of daily help.
