Words are inadequate to express my deep sense of gratitude...
Words are inadequate to express my deep sense of gratitude for what Christian Science has done and is daily doing for me. Its teachings have lifted me from the gloom of everyday human existence with its transitory pains and pleasures into a state of consciousness wherein the constant application and demonstration of this truth opens the gates wide for the realization of ultimate bliss and harmony, thereby bringing that hope within us of reaching what Jesus the Christ has so beautifully taught us to know in the immortal words, "The kingdom of heaven is at hand."
Christian Science found me a physical and mental wreck after twenty years' treatment by eminent physicians and surgeons, during the first ten years of which I had five severe operations performed for internal complaints. After having been reduced to a mere human shell a new trouble set in, diagnosed as a kidney difficulty, for which I had to wear supports day and night. My sufferings were intense mentally as well as physically, because one physician after another stated my case to be hopeless. There were ten years more of torture; then Christian Science came into my life and healed me in about three months. I was also completely healed of a chronic bowel disorder which had seemed to exist since childhood and was supposed to have been inherited, and of a structural defect of the eyes for which I had to wear glasses constantly over sixteen years.
For these healings I am indeed immensely grateful to Christ Jesus, the Way-shower, and to the messenger of Truth to this age, Mrs. Eddy. My daily prayer to our Father-Mother God is for more love to my neighbor, for more spiritual wisom and understanding.
