With heartfelt joy I give my testimony of healing. Two years ago I was in a very bad state of health. I was supposed to be suffering from severe nervous prostration; in fact, I was so very ill that I could do nothing. Sleep entirely left me, and resorting to the only means then available, material remedies were used. Several doctors attended me and all sorts of medicines and treatments were tried, but all to no avail. Gradually I grew worse and became a shadow of my former self. Knowing that no doctor or medicine could cure me, I ceased taking drugs and gave myself up to despair.

In my darkest hour a dear friend presented Christian Science to me. At last I knew I had found the "pearl of great price" for which I had searched so long. The truth of being gradually dawned on my consciousness; I saw man as God's reflection, never in or of matter, and lo! to my unspeakable joy I was healed. After two years of intense suffering and weakness I rose from bed, renewed, regenerated, claiming my birthright as a child of God. Words cannot express what I owe to God and to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the restoration to health and strength.

This healing is not the only proof I have of the great power of Christian Science. Just after Science had been presented to me I had another demonstration of its efficacy. My eldest daughter was going on an errand when a huge motor lorry, laden at the time, struck her and knocked her down, and one of the wheels went over her right leg. She was immediately taken to a hospital, where the gravest doubts of her recovery were entertained.
