Reading the experiences of others has helped me so much that I know the telling of what Christian Science has done for me cannot fail to encourage some one else who is looking to God for healing. It is five years since a friend told me of two beautiful healings through the power of Truth. Up to that time I had never heard of any such healings and thought lightly of Christian Science; however, because of my high regard for this friend, I believed what she told me must be true.

For seven years I had been in very poor health, seeming to be on the verge of a nervous breakdown almost constantly. Sometimes I was not entirely free from headache for months together, and often I slept only an hour or so during the night. A sense of great weakness and occasional attacks of rheumatism added to my troubles; but I think the hardest to bear was the intense despondency which was fast getting control of me. Finally I suffered a complete breakdown, which kept me away from business over six months, and I was on my back much of that time. When I returned to work the doctors told me that if the same conditions appeared again I would have to give up business entirely. They also said I would never be any stronger; but I thank God that I know better now—I realize that I live in the infinite strength of God.

Immediately upon hearing of Christian Science healing, I secured a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy and began reading it. After six months the same conditions of breakdown again appeared. I knew from experience that doctors could do nothing for me, and had no desire for medicine. I had enjoyed reading Science and Health and knew it was good and true,—though I did not understand it well,—so asked for Christian Science treatment. I now know that I was healed in the first treatment, but at the time it seemed too good to be true and I could not grasp it at once, so treatment was continued two or three weeks. I might almost say I had not lived until this healing came to me; it marked the beginning of that beautiful unfoldment of Life which God gives to all of us when we are ready to hear the still, small voice.
