I am as happy as can be, for I am so well pleased with...
I am as happy as can be, for I am so well pleased with the good that was brought into my home through Christian Science. When a Christian Scientist came to see me three years ago I was very low, and the doctors said I could not get well. I was having hemorrhages all the time, also spells of unconsciousness, and was almost distracted mentally. When I saw the Scientist coming I was walking around in the yard thinking I could not live any longer. She asked me if I would read the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and I said, Yes; so she sent it to me and I began trying to read it. I was very weak, and people would say that I ought not to read, for it would hurt me; that my lungs were too weak, and the left lung was about gone. I kept on reading for a few days, however, and commenced to feel better. I then had treatment for several months from a Christian Science practitioner. From that day to this I have never had a dose of medicine; neither has any one of my family. I am a well woman and can work all day.
I am so thankful for the blessings that have been sent to me. Just think—a poor mother sent off to the top of a hill for her health as I was, and the husband working to get medicine and pay doctors, and then this blessed truth was sent to me! I am so happy, and am doing all I can to make others happy. I am still reading my good Christian Science books and papers.—(Mrs.) Mamie McHone, Berea, Ky.
I testify to the truth of the above testimony, having witnessed the writer's physical and mental condition when Christian Science was first brought to her attention. She was suffering from lung trouble in an advanced stage. She is now well and happy.
