Christian Science is the most wonderful inspiration that...
Christian Science is the most wonderful inspiration that has ever come into my life. I did not turn to this truth for physical healing alone, but more for peace of mind and happiness. My life seemed to be void of something; I could not tell exactly what, until I took up the study of Christian Science, when I soon found that it was the correct understanding of God and God's man, and man's relation to God. This was partially my trouble, as well as fear which had held me in bendage for many years. The illumination which the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," threw upon the Scriptures was such a beautiful revelation to me that mere words fail to express my deeply felt gratitude.
After being a student of Christian Science for several years, I had occasion to prove its healing power. I had quite a difficult problem to work out, and it manifested itself in a severe sickness. I tried to treat myself, but discouragement took hold of me, as one thing after another came up to dishearten me. Finally, after trying several practitioners, I was about to give up, for I did not want to live any longer. Two doctors said there was no hope for me. A physician in Philadelphia stated that I had Bright's disease in its worst form and could not live more than three months. It was also said that there was not an organ in my body which was not diseased. One day a friend called to see me when I was most distressed, and pleaded with me not to give up, saying that Christian Science had helped me before and would again. I therefore called another practitioner, with the result that I was healed of this complication of diseases. Today I am a living witness to the power of Truth. I am a well woman, working every day.
I have also been healed of sleeplessness and fear, and Christian Science has been a help to me in a business way. I cannot help repeating those beautiful words of our Way-shower: "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." I am finding that kingdom as I love my neighbor as myself. I am most thankful to God, and grateful to His dearly loved messenger, Mrs. Eddy, for all the good that has come to me through Christian Science.—(Miss) Myrtle Irene Bennett, Harrisburg, Pa.
