Something over twelve years ago I heard of a person who had been healed of an eye trouble through Christian Science. I had worn glasses for seventeen years. Material means of relief had been tested since childhood and found wanting, and I though if one person could be healed through Christian Science, another could be. I therefore sought a practitioner, who gave me a treatment, during which I knew without doubt that I was healed: the pain of years' duration left. I was told to get and read Science and Health. That seemed impossible, but I obeyed, and on the way home removed my glasses, declaring I was healed. I began to read and after a couple of hours was able to read clearly the first page in the chapter on Prayer. Only those who have had similar experiences can know the wonderful joy I experiences at this freedom from bondage. I was able to study night and day. At times it seemed as though the complete manifestation was slow, but I now rejoice in perfect healing.
Since then the proofs of God's healing power have been many and beautiful, and I am grateful for the light of Truth which has come through Christian Science. Words fail to express what this teaching means to me. I am grateful for all the wonderful help I have had from our Leader's works, and for my many Christian Science friends.
Miss Edith M. Hornbeck, Chester, Conn.
