It is seven years since I began the study of Christian Science...
It is seven years since I began the study of Christian Science and was healed of a chronic ailment of years' standing. Physicians had told me an operation was necessary, but having a dread of hospitals I went to a specialist, who gave me treatments for some time. I got some relief from these treatments, but had spent almost all my money, and not being cured I discontinued them, feeling totally discouraged and not knowing where to turn for help.
A cousin came to my rescue, telling me of his healing, through Christian Science, of tubercular disease of the throat. He gave me Science and Health to read and I knew at once it was the "pearl of great price." A practitioner was engaged, and relief was experienced at the third treatment. With a few more treatment I was entirely healed, but had a fear of doing without the practitioner until I realized that perfect love casts out fear. Since then I have many healings, among them that of sick headaches, which had kept me in bed two or three days at a time. The Bible, which I used to read as a duty, now with Science and Health is read with pleasure and understanding. I am thankful for the spiritual uplift received and for the Christian Science literature. I cannot express in words my gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her untiring efforts to bring this wonderful truth to the world. I am thankful to God every day of my life.
