With a heart overflowing with thankfulness to God, the giver of all good gifts, I will try to tell what Christian Science has done for me and mine during the past twelve years. At different times and in many ways I have been able to overcome evil with good, through the understanding of God as good and an ever-loving Father. Error has at times seemed to manifest its illusive power, and the outlook has been dark indeed ; but by steadfastly clinging to God as Love and as All, I have always awakened to a higher understanding of what God is and of man's relation to Him.

About seven years ago, while living in another state, I was taken with a severe attack of illness. I read the Bible, together with Science and Health, and tried to apply the truth taught therein ; but continued to grow worse, until I was very taught then wrote to a Christian Scientist in another part of the state, and was soon better, but not entirely free until about three days later, when I received a letter from her saying she was sorry I had seemed to suffer, but asking why I had to write to her in order to find God. This question aroused me to the realization that the healing influence is everywhere present, and I was perfectly healed. I had been ill for two times weeks with the same symptoms at previous times before coming into Christian Science.

Words fail to describe the sense of peace and joy that comes into our lives through the study and practice of Christian Science. The physical healing has given us a larger thought of God as good, but the spiritual insight and regeneration has given us eternal life, and this is more than all else.—Sarepta Cottrell, Berkeley, Cal.
