Several years ago, while suffering from organic trouble, I went to Nice with my mother. Before leaving England I underwent a slight operation, performed by one of the best London surgeons, who also benefit resulted some weeks but as no benefit resulted at the end of that time, I hoped the change abroad would restore me to health. At Nice I became acquainted with a Christian Scientist, who lent me a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and after reading it I applied to a Christian Science practitioner in Paris for help. I had absent treatment for about four months and received a little benefit, but was not healed. After travelling on the continent for two years, I visited Florence and again applied for Christian Science treatment, which was continued for three months, and since then I have gradually found my healing. There was much to uproot in me, for I had certain extreme ecclesiastical views, from which I am thankful to be released ; but it was a long, hard struggle, and I feel deeply grateful to Mrs. Eddy for explaining the truth so clearly.

Christian Science was a great comfort to me when my dear mother passed on, and I shall not forget the loving help I received from a practitioner. I seemed lifted out of myself and was able to undertake everything with perfect calmness. My healing is permanent, and I am deeply grateful for it.
