In a recent editorial entitled "To Charm Business," the reference to Christian Science may have led some readers to believe that this Science is a mortally mental method by which one may get what he wants, no matter how selfish that want may be.

In reply thereto, permit me to state that the practice of Christian Science is based upon divine Principle, unchangeable good. So long as the Christian Scientist lives in obedience to this Principle, he knows that God will supply everything he needs. What he does not need, the Christian Scientist does not want, for want usually involves selfishness. "Selfishness does not appear in the practice of Truth or Christian Science," Mrs. Eddy writes on page 410 of Science and Health. "If mental practice is abused or is used in any way except to promote right thinking and doing, the power to heal mentally will diminish, until the practitioner's healing ability is wholly lost."
