I did not read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures"...
I did not read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy for any good I expected to get from it, but one day, having nothing else to read, I took up a copy of the text-book that I had borrowed from a friend. When I had finished the chapter on Prayer I knew there was no reason for me to be wearing glasses, though I had done so for nine years and an optician had told me I could never do without them. I took them off and have never required them since, though that was six years ago.
About two years ago, while I was out riding alone, my horse shied and threw me on to a very hard road, where I struck heavily on my head. I was stunned for a minute but soon recovered, and after catching the horse I rode home. That night there were terrible pains up the back of my neck to the top of my head. I tried hard to hold the right thought, but next morning I could hardly move my head at all. Then I was told of people having paralysis through just such an accident, and fear took hold of me; but I wired a Christian Science practitioner three hundred and fifty miles away, telling her what had occurred and asking her to help me. About three hours after sending the wire I could move my head quite easily, and next day there was no pain. These are only two of the many demonstrations I have had, and I cannot adequately express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to Mrs. Eddy, also to all who are helping to spread this great truth.—Ada Elliott, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
