A Letter from Mr. Shield

New York, May 25, 1916.

To the Board of Directors of The First Church of Christ, Scientist, Boston, Mass.

Dear Friends: Permit me to express my gratitude for the kindly spirit with which you have accepted my request to be relieved of further service as a lecturer.

The lecturing has brought me much joy, and I leave it with heartfelt love and gratitude to God, to you, to my dear coworkers in the lecture field, and to all those beloved ones whose helpful cooperation and loving generosity have so largely contributed to the measure of success my effort has attained.

Fraternally yours,

Jacob S. Shield.
