This testimony is sent with the desire that it may bring some one the peace, health, and happiness that have been mine since finding Christian Science. Before investigating this teaching I had been a lifelong sufferer. I was like the woman spoken of in the Bible who "suffered many things of many physicians," but I did not give up hope of getting well until the doctor told me I had lung trouble. Even then I turned to Christian Science only when man's extremity proved to be God's opportunity.

One week after writing to a Christian Science practitioner for treatment I was out on the porch rinsing clothes in cold water. Before that time I had been so weak that some days I could only speak in a whisper and could not raise my hand. I at once discarded flannels and chest protectors, though I had been told they must be worn all the time, and put on thin clothing without any fear of taking cold. It is almost three years since my healing took place. I am absolutely well in every way, can go out in all kinds of weather, and am able to do any kind of work that it is my duty to do. I have also found Christian Science a great help in traveling from place to place. By standing porter at the door of thought, as our Leader counsels (see Science and Health, p. 392), I have proved that change of climate or water can have no power over God's child.

My little girl was healed of a skin disease in two days, also of every symptom of acute appendicitis. Twenty-four hours after calling for help she rode quite a distance with me on the street-car to attend Christian Science services. I am thankful for these and many other blessings that have come to me through Christian Science, but I am more grateful for the illumination of the Scriptures through reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, that good woman who was spiritual enough to point out the truth that Jesus said would make free.
