It is now five years since I first became interested in Christian Science through a friend, who loaned me Science and Health. As I read this book, it seemed as though God Himself were talking to me, and before I had finished it I was healed of wearing glasses, although they had been used for a number of years; and I have never needed them since.

I was healed of headache during one of the Wednesday evening meetings. I had been suffering severely all that day and had great fear in regard to attending the service; but during the meeting I felt much better, and before I went home the headache was all gone. I had been subject to this trouble for years, but have had only one attack since this healing, and it was overcome by realizing that the "scientific statement, of being" (Science and Health, p. 468) is wholly true. I have also been healed of a number of other ailments. In the spring of 1914 I awoke one morning with a throat affection and influenza, and for five days and nights I could not eat or swallow. On the fifth night I placed all in God's hands, knowing that He alone could heal me, and in the morning I awoke with a sense of peace, for I was healed.

The following week I was taken with severe pain in the limbs, which proved to material sense to be due to varicose veins. Then an internal abscess developed, causing great swelling and pain. For several days I could only hobble about with the aid of two canes. Members of my family were much opposed to my having Christian Science treatment and felt I should have an operation; but I kept steadily at my study of our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, knowing that the truth would heal me. The following Sunday a Christian Scientist called and talked with me. I told her to tell a practitioner of my condition and ask her to help me. She did so, and I began to improve at once. The swelling went down and I could walk; the abscess broke and disappeared. In a short time I could do the housework again, and in about three weeks I was able to go to see the practitioner. After that I grew strong and well, and now I weigh more than ever. I am still proving the truth in my daily life.
