For four years Christian Science has been our only remedy...
For four years Christian Science has been our only remedy for all sickness, sin, and discord, and it has never failed us. Before coming into Science I was a physical wreck. Two leading physicians said medicine would not help me and that I must submit to an operation. When asked to try Christian Science, I said I would try anything if only I could regain my health. A practitioner was called and treatment was begun. The healing was not speedy, but at the end of two months it was complete, and since then I have been well and strong, able to attend to all my home duties. For the physical healing I am indeed thankful, but words can never express my gratitude for the spiritual healing that came to me. I have been taught to pray, to love and serve God as never before. It surely has been a wonderful revelation to me. Sometimes the way has seemed hard, but Christian Science teaches us that "trials are proofs of God's care" (Science and Health, p. 66), and the good Shepherd is showing me how to rejoice all the way.
Our three children have been healed of chronic diseases, and other ailments have been overcome, among them scarlet fever and rheumatism. These are just a few of the healings that have come to us in Christian Science; many blessings have come to us since we began its study, and each day brings us greater proof of God's loving care. The Sunday school means so much to the children, who are daily unfolding more love and truth. It is my greatest desire to rise above all materiality and to become more spiritual; to have that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus."
