Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy...
Jesus said, "Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." This saying of the Master was truly verified to me in the healing of sleeplessness, to which I was in bondage for many years and which at various times resulted in complete exhaustion. I would often be in bed with nervous breakdown from six to eight weeks, undergoing what is known as the rest-cure, with its usual accompaniments, —drugs, diet, massage, etc., —but all failed to produce the desired natural sleep. The days that followed these nights are positively indescribable. The physicians diagnosed the case as a complication of stomach and liver trouble, and every available remedy was resorted to, but without benfit. This condition has been entirely overcome in Christian Science, and I sleep most peacefully. I wore glasses for many years, but they were discarded soon after taking up this study.
Christian Science has proved the greatest blessing of all in the overcoming of deep sorrow, by showing me that God knows no separation, and that in Him is fulness of joy. It has been my glorious privilege to do healing work, and in doing so my grief has been turned into joy. I was born a Jewess, and it was extremely difficult for me to understand and accept the Christ; but on close application to the study of Christian Science I soon found this to the truth that Jesus came to teach, and I am grateful for a religion which enables me to solve any problem that comes into my life, by bringing the right thought to bear upon it.
My daily prayer is that I may be a channel for all good. I am deeply thankful to God, who gives us "richly all things to enjoy," and grateful to Mrs. Eddy for this wonderful discovery, which is leading me so beautifully from sense to Soul. —Sarah Meyerstein, San Francisco, Cal.
