I have much for which to be grateful to Christian Science

I have much for which to be grateful to Christian Science. Twenty-one years ago, through the reading of Science and Health, I was healed of stomach trouble and a very bad rupture, also of the tobacco and liquor habits and the use of profane language. I saw at the time I began to read the book that it was the truth, and I have never doubted its teaching from that day to this. I have had many proofs of the power of Truth, and for this I am surely grateful to Mrs. Eddy, who has given us in her writings the means whereby to prove it for ourselves. Jesus said he would send a Comforter that would teach us all truth, and bring the things of which he told us to our remembrance, and to me this Comforter is Christian Science. I am very sure the understanding of this teaching has brought peace and happiness to me many times, when nothing else could.

In Science and Health (p. 57) Mrs. Eddy tells us that "happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love. It is unselfish; therefore it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to share it." It is required of us to take up this truth and prove it for ourselves, and one proof makes us stronger, and more patient to stand and see the glory of God. Christian Science has given me an understanding of God that I can apply to my business and in my every-day needs. I am indeed grateful for this teaching.
