Jesus said to one whom he had healed, that he should go and tell his friends the good things God had done for him; so I wish to tell what God has done for me through a faithful Christian Science practitioner. I was suffering, and had been for almost four years, from a trouble which mortal belief attaches to women of my age. I had hemorrhages continually for the first year, and the other years the trouble continued, with the exception of a few days or weeks sometimes. My son and his wife were coming to make me a visti, but I was taken ill three months before they arrived, and it seemed as if I would never be any better. I had several other troubles also, namely, nervousness, sleeplessness, and a serious stomach disorder something like congestion, and my heart was in bad condition. Then, too, my feet and ankles were very much swollen.

My daughter-in-law, who is a Christian Scientist, asked me why I did not try Christian Science, but like some other people I was prejudiced against it, even to the degree that I would not read about it. I had, however, come to a place where I had entirely given up hope of ever being any better, and as I was very weak and nervous, I was ready to try anything that would help me. I was sure Christian Science would do me no harm, even if it did me no good. My daughter-in-law therefore immediately sent a special delivery letter to a practitioner at Independence, Mo., and the return post brought word that treatment was begun as soon as the letter was received. I had been sleeping very little at night, but that night I slept well, and did not suffer at all with nervousness. The next morning I went to the table and ate my breakfast, something I had not been able to do for three months, and in four days I made quite a trip by train. I have never even had to lie down to rest during the day since then, and I can eat anything.

This was all accomplished with only three weeks' treatment, and I believe with careful study of the Bible and Science and Health we can overcome all of our troubles and sickness and get a better understanding of what God has done and can do for us, and is willing always to do if we seek Him. Christ Jesus has said that whosoever seeks God, finds Him, and He is "the same yesterday, and today, and forever." We must lose our great fear. "Self-abnegation, by which we lay down all for Truth, or Christ" (Science and Health, p. 568), is our weapon against error. We must divest ourselves of pride and self, and thus empty our minds of all error, that we may be filled with truth. I thank God that I am a perfectly well woman, anxious and willing to do anything that He may direct me to do.
