"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Christian Science proved to me the truth of this Scripture four years ago, when my daughter, then ten years old, was healed of what is known as St. Vitus' dance. She came home from school seemingly all right, but when she started to work out her arithmetic problems she could not hold the pencil. That was Wednesday evening, and I left her with her father and went to the testimony meeting. On my return she had no use of her limbs and could not speak. To look at the body there was no manifestation of life, and I had to look away from matter to "the imperishable things of Spirit" (Science and Health, p. 21).
Fear came in through my husband, and he called a physician. After examining her, the doctor said we were doing more than any one else could do, but he would like to come back in three days, and he did so. She did not take any medicine, but had Christian Science treatment. At times when it would seem that she could not live, I would declare the truth night and day, that flesh cannot be a veil to hide life, nor take life, for Life is God and God is man's Life. Then as she began to get better, she studied "Unity of Good" by our Leader and went over the Lesson-Sermons with me, till all was renewed and she was healed. She was taken ill in February and was out of school until the following term, when she reentered and went right along with her class. This is only one proof of the allness of God, good. I am filled with thanksgiving for this truth that leads man from sense to Soul.—Effa L. Murphy, Uniontown, Pa.
I was very frequently at the home of Mrs. Murphy during the illness of her daughter, and can verify every statement she has made. This demonstration has proven to me what Christian Science can do for all mankind through the realization of the allness of God.—Anne McFadden.
